Time to be a true Nationalist: Know what you can do for the Pulwama Terror Attack Martyres
India has been shaken by one of the deadliest and most heinous terror attacks over the years, on 14th Feb. A large convey of CRPF personnel returning back to their duties after vacation was rammed by a car full of explosives. The blast was so intense that it could be heard at over 10 km away. The body parts of the men in uniform flew up to a hundred meters away. Over 40 CRPF personnel have martyred in the terror attack.
Who is Responsible?
The responsibility of this attack has been accepted by the Pakistan-based terror group – Jaish-e-Mohommad. Pictures that have been coming from the valley are deeply disturbing and anguishing.
The attack has not only shaken the conscience of the nation, but it has also been a blow to the long-standing narrative that we need to be at peace with our neighbor Pakistan. The attack must be seen as the final nail in the coffin of this narrative of peace at the cost of the lives of our people.
Reactions of True Indian Nationalists
Peace, no doubt has to be the first preference over any sough of violent retaliation. But in the peculiar case of a deaf and dead nation like Pakistan, all attempts of peace seem to have outlived their relevance. The number of times India has attempted peace with Pakistan is beyond a count now. It also remains a fact that every single time, we have been backstabbed, in the form an even deadlier terror attack.
It’s high time that we as a nation shed our soft-power status, go out, and avenge the blood of soldiers in the most relevant ways possible. War may not be the best solution to the problem, but peace has not borne any! The tears of the 40 families and plight of the 130 crore Indians is a testimony to this.
Actions by Governments
The government has announced various measures to help the families of the martyrs.
Maharashtra Govt. has announced a sum of 50 lakhs for the families of the martyrs from the state.
Punjab Govt. has promised govt. jobs for their kin.
Many corporates have also come forward to help the victim families.
Reliance Foundation has reached out to them.
Apollo Hospitals has offered free treatment of the injured soldiers anywhere in India.
IAS officers of Uttarakhand have also decided to donate their one day’s salary for the welfare of the grieving families.
The state and central governments, corporates, and organizations are doing their bit. Its high time that we, as citizens also do our part, in whatever capacities possible.
